Georgiana Ewing

Born in Abilene, Texas in 1950, I am a West Texas “girl” through and through.  I graduated from high school in 1968, the year of Martin Luther King’s and Robert Kennedy’s assassinations and theViet Nam war was at its peak.  The world has never been the same.  Like so many others, I’m still trying to make since of it all.  How can one individual make a difference?

Mother Teresa said “we can do no great things, only small things with great love.”  My “small things” are done with paint and canvas, written in the language of color.

After having raised a son who is also an artist, I now reside in the Texas Hill Country with my husband, the love of my life, and five fabulous cats.

Artist's Statement

I believe the world cannot have too much color or joy.  I hope my work brings the viewer a moment of both.  My paintings draw attention to  small moments in life:  the beauty in everyday objects, the quiet and peace in a shadow, the twinkle in an animal’s eye.

Please feel free to crawl inside the paintings and stay a while.  Inhale the energy and taste the color.  You are welcome to my world.
